Conditions of Entry

  1. THE EVENTS: The Sunshine Coast Classic Events will be played over 72 holes of Stableford play on the designated dates on the tournament website. The entire field will contest all four rounds and the winners will be based on the best highest aggregate Stableford score. Daily prizes will be awarded on daily adjusted handicaps.
  2. EVENT COMMITTEE: The events shall be under the management and control of a Championship Committee – the composition of this Committee to be determined by the venue club. The Events Committee reserves the right to: a) fix and/or alter starting times, (b) in the event of bad weather, or for any other reason, either shorten the contest or fix an other day/venue, (c) vary any conditions should they deem it advisable, (d) reject any entry without assigning any reason therefore. The decision of the Events Committee will be final in all matters and in the absence of a full committee, such members as may be present at the time may give a decision and any decision so given shall be deemed to be a decision of the full Event Committee.
  3. ENTRIES:
    1. The Sunshine Coast Classic’s are open to all male & female amateur golfers with a Registered Golf Handicap.
    2. Each field will be limited to 120 players. To ensure your position in entering the field please register early to avoid disappointment.
    3. The prescribed Entry Fee must accompany the registration form at the time of entering.
    4. Entries without a Golf Link number must be endorsed by an official of the player’s home club.
    5. Nominations are accepted at face value, on the basis that information contained therein is correct, and up to date.
    6. Should this subsequently be proven not to be the case, the Event’s Committee reserves the right to deem any competitor ineligible – at any time prior to or during each Sunshine Coast
    7. Refund/Cancellation Policy – Your entry fees will remain 100% refundable up 60 days before the event or should government restrictions hinder the running of the event.
  4. PUBLICITY: The Sunshine Coast Classic Event Committee organises publicity before, during and/or after this Championship. It is a condition of entry that all players assent to references to them, and pictures of them in practice and play being published via any medium (including the internet).
  5. PRIVACY: The Sunshine Coast Classic Event may retain the personal details (i.e. name, address, and handicap) of entrants in this Championship on its records. The purpose of doing so is such that information on other future events conducted by The Sunshine Coast Classic Event (or other parties) can be forwarded as deemed appropriate. The Committee includes representatives from Noosa Springs Golf and Spa Resort, Twin Waters Golf Club, Palmer Coolum Golf Resort and Maroochy River Golf Club.   6. DRESS REGULATIONS: It is a requirement of this tournament that all players must comply with the dress standards of each of the participating golf facilities. Players not conforming to the dress requirements of the course on which they are playing will not be permitted to take their place in the field.
  7. PRACTICE: Practise rounds may be available at designated courses on nominated days. Prior bookings at each participating Club are essential.
  8. RULES: The Rules of Golf as adopted by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews will apply together with such Local Rules as are approved by the Committee.
  9. COURSE MARKERS: During practice or during the Sunshine Coast Classic a player shall not place on the course, or cause to be placed on the course, any artificial marker or other device designed to indicate course measurements. A player in breach of this condition shall be disqualified.
  10. DRAW AND STARTING TIMES: A draw for each day’s play will be published. Players shall start at the time and in the order arranged by the Committee. Rule 6-3a provides “The Player shall start at the time laid down by the Committee”. The penalty for breach of Rule 6-3a is disqualification. However, it is a condition of this Event that, in the absence of circumstances which warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule 33-7, if the player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five minutes of his starting time, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes at the first hole in stroke. For the fourth round, an automatic draw will be conducted, based on the progressive aggregate scores for the first three rounds.
  11. BALL: It will be obligatory for all competitors in the Event to play with a ball which is named in the current R&A and/or USGA Approved Lists. Copies of these lists are available from www.randa.org or www.usga.org Penalty: Disqualification.
  12. USE OF MOTORISED VEHICLES: The tournament nomination fee includes cart fee.
  13. GPS: Distance measuring devices may be used.
  14. MOBILE PHONES: The use of mobile phones by players and/or caddies during the play of any competition round, other than described in point 13 is prohibited.
  15. PACE OF PLAY: Rule 6-7 will be strictly enforced. A Pace of Play Schedule and description of applicable penalties for breaching this schedule will be supplied to competitors prior to the first round of the tournament.
  16. TIES: In the event of a tie for the Sunshine Coast Classic the winners will be determined by the use of the Australian Count-Back System.
  17. PROTESTS: Protests must be lodged in writing with the Events Committee no later than 10 minutes after the conclusion of the day’s play.
  18. PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES: Trophies will be presented at the conclusion of the Event and will be awarded at the determination of the Event Committee
